A Benchmark of Excellence Acknowledged Across Borders
WONCA’s Practice Accreditation offers global applicability by addressing the diverse needs of family medicine practices across different settings. The process provides a flexible framework that acknowledges and respects local contexts while establishing global benchmarks for quality and excellence in family medicine. By reflecting global best practices, adapting to regional differences, providing ongoing support, and offering tailored recommendations, WONCA’s accreditation helps practices maintain their high standards and stay ahead in a rapidly evolving healthcare landscape.
WONCA’s accreditation does not cover the many other certifications and regulatory requirements that practices may need to fulfill, such as clinical governance, facility safety, or local healthcare regulations. Our evaluation focuses on how well a practice aligns with the core principles of family medicine, including patient-centered care, continuity of care, and community-based practice. This ensures that practices are well-positioned to deliver high-quality care within the framework of family medicine.
